LASEK Is Better than LASIK
Any one who has worn glasses or contacts since they were in third grade can tell you that the invention of LASIK was fantastic. Back in my day, contacts were extremely expensive and not an option for someone so young. So I got to go through elemetary and junior high school with eyeglasses and braces. I’ll never forget the day I got contacts and my braces were removed. All of the sudden, I felt so free. I also played sports, so the first time I played without glasses and the safety strap around my head, I thought I was going to burst with delight. At least if I took a shot to the face, it didn’t hurt nearly as much.
LASIK and LASEK surgery offers a terrific alternative to the daily grind of corrective lenses. I did some research on the Internet by typing in New York LASEK, what is LASIK, etc. and found all the answers to my questions. I was a bit apprehensive about messing with my eyes. I’m a wimp about such things anyway and the prospect of being awake with my eyes forced wide open was unsettling. But after researching LASEK and LASIK surgery, many of my concerns have been put to rest. I have also found some testimonials with stunning results. Many of the patients that underwent LASIK or LASEK surgery have found their eyesight improved to 20/20 or better.
Other benefits of LASIK or LASEK are intangibles, like increased self image and confidence. Feeling younger than glasses sometimes indicate. For me, the idea of choosing the latest trend in sun glasses without expending a fortune for prescription lenses is incredibly enticing. I know I could do this with contacts, but honestly, I simply can’t wear contacts at a baseball game with dust flying everywhere and the pollution in the air around New York City and the New York Metro area is impossible at times. The irritation it causes is painful and wearing my contacts becomes impossible for a couple of days after.
