Bugaboo Bee Pushchair Reviewed by an Unimpressed Mother
I was so looking forward to receive my first bugaboo bee pushchair, as I was told it was a must have product. I was a bit dissapointed when it arrived. I watched the DVD and read through the instructions which were all very clear.
The problem came when I tried to sit my 18 month old in the bugaboo bee pushchair. He is a very average size so I didn’t think there would be a problem with a pushchair that was stated as being ok for up to 4 years old but boy is it narrow. It was impossible to fit him in with his winter coat on as the straps are very short too. I couldnt figure out how to extend them at all.
Another problem being that with the British climate being like it is, a good raincover is a must but the one that came with it is quite flimsy and the hood has to be fully extended to support the cover, this left my little one very cramped in a kind of tunnel and he didn’t like it much at all, because he couldn’t see anything.
I know that you can use the raincover with just the wires from the hood but for the ever changing climate that we have, I’m not prepared to be unthreading and rethreading the hood on and off for every shower. Having had a cameleon before, I was aware that Bugaboo are not very generous on headroom when using hoods but for the RRP of £350+ extras I would have expected something that would last more than 18 months. Maybe in the sunnier climates where kids don’t wear coats or need raincovers you maybe would stretch it to 2 years but I think it is deffinately a case of fashion over function.
